An Iceage Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, marking the inventive Danish quartet’s first ever visit to our shores.

In further great news for fans of the band, Iceage’s debut gigs in Sydney and Melbourne will be absolutely free!

That’s right, the group – frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, guitarist Johan Suurballe Wieth, and the rhythm section of Jakob Tvilling Pless and Dan Kjær Nielsen- are teaming up with VICE music folks Noisey for a pair of showcases that cost only the price of an RSVP (full details below) this September.

The group will also be bringing their visionary mix of punk, goth, hardcore and post-punk to Brisbane’s The Brightside for a ticketed event that rounds out their Antipodean visit.

Since the release of their two full-length albums – 2011’s New Brigade and “emotionally heightened” 2013 ollow-up You’re Nothing – Iceage has performed at many of the world’s major festivals—while finding the time to plunge themselves into various other projects, including the metal band, SEJR (“victory” in Danish), Marching Church, and Vår.

The band recently stunned fans once more with the country-tinged twang of new single, ‘The Lord’s Favourite’, marking a sharp stylistic u-turn for Iceage as they prepare material for a new release – set to be unveiled soon.

Don’t miss your chance to catch this one-of-a-kind group, named among NME‘s 100 most influential artists of the modern era, as they make their debut Australian visit this September. Who knows when they’ll be back our way again…
