A Shihad Australian Tour 2014 has been announced as the heavy hitting Kiwi rockers take their latest, and perhaps most brutal album on the road.

Shihad’s ninth and latest studio effort FVEY (pronounced Five Eyes) is the New Zealand’s finest album in over a decade. Landing a Top 10 ARIA Album Chart position in its opening week and has left a trail of glowing reviews in its wake, with many praising the album as a return to Shihad’s roots while frontman Jon Toogood taps into his most personal and political songs yet.

FVEY also debuted at #1 in New Zealand, creating music history in the process by making Shihad the single artist with the most (five) #1 debuts in history .

The Shihad Australian Tour 2014 will see the band taking their renowned live rock performance and new songs across the country this October, playing venues in Brisbane, Sydney, Fremantle, Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne. The band are also set to rock this year’s Festival of the Sun festival, headlining a killer lineup at Port Macquarie’s most esteemed boutique and camping event.

Joining as special guests on the Shihad Australian Tour 2014 will be Melbourne’s High Tension and Cairo Knife Fight.

Ferocious punk and metal outfit High Tension rose from the ashes of treasured disco-punks Young & Restless, The Nation Blue and Love Like Electrocution. Having recently finished touring with The Bronx, High on Fire and Violent Soho, they’re match-fit to melt faces this October.

Cairo Knife Fight – the brainchild of New Zealand born / LA based songwriter/ multi instrumentalist Nick Gaffaney – push the limits of what two musicians can do on one stage. Feted by their peers and hand picked to tour with Them Crooked Vultures, Queens Of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters, the band have an astonishing debut album in the wings and are launching in Australia with the first single ‘Rezlord’
