Following on from the single ‘Run For Your Life’, the always evolving Bertie Blackman has just revealed a second cut from her forthcoming fifth studio album ‘The Dash’ (Due October 3) in the form the pulsating, synth laced ‘War Of One’.

Blackman explains War Of One as “about the eternal battle…the battle from within. Universally, I think it is something that we all deal with constantly, in many different ways. Its about facing yourself. This is my anthem of metaphysically ‘suiting up’ for a duel. BB vs BB (with strobe lights and smoke machines naturally!)”

Conceived with the help of a Sydney production duo comprising multi-instrumentalist Dave Jenkins Jr (Kirin J Callinan, Andy Bull) and Ross James aka Lanterns (Thelma Plum, East & Eves) ‘War Of One’ is a strong contender for ‘the best 80s montage soundtrack’ we’ve heard all year.
