If you were waiting patiently for the digital box office to open this morning (or you just plum forgot), online ticket sales for this year’s Meredith Music Festival have been postponed.

A statement issued from the Victorian event’s benevolent matriarch, Aunty Meredith, this morning explains that despite tickets being scheduled to go on sale at 11am this morning, they have now been delayed until next week owing to the fact that the website was not ready to handle the online demand.

“Due to a technical issue with the Meredith website, Online ticket sales for 24-Meredith have been postponed until next week,” the statement reads. “They were scheduled to take place at 11am today, August 29th, but due to a fault with the Meredith website, the system was not going to function smoothly so the decision was taken to postpone the allocation entirely.

We will advise a new time and day for sales to take place, but they will not be happening at all today, Friday 29 August. We apologise to those inconvenienced and will get details of the new time and date through as soon as we can.”

Interestingly, Aunty Meredith’s statement adds: “Please note the fault does not lay with Oztix, it was with the Meredith website.”

As reported this morning, yesterday morning’s Oztix-hosted Falls Festival ticket ballot sale didn’t go smoothly, with the event’s social media flooded with messages from furious fans detailing issues with accessing the ticket sale, while further criticising the event’s official response that “demand was bigger than previous years, even though less ballot codes were distributed.”
