After releasing the single, The Silly Fucking Thing that would land him international spotlight, Sydney’s own Spookyland is pleased to release his highly anticipated ‘Rock and Roll Weakling’ EP, available now. With the EP added to 3RRR’s ‘Soundscape’, 2SER and FBI rotation, and the kicker title track premiered by Triple J’s Richard Kingsmill on 2014, Spookyland is currently on a run of East Coast EP launch shows this September, including a showcase slot at BIGSOUND in Brisbane.

Spookyland has also become the first Australian act to sign with US label Canvasback, which was founded by rock’n’roll veteran Steve Ralbovsky (who previously signed The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Soundgarden, My Morning Jacket). Other artists currently on the Canvasback roster include Grouplove, Alt-J and The Orwells. The signing will see single “Rock and Roll Weakling” released in the US in early Sept on the Canvasclub imprint. Canvasback is a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. The act will make their debut US trip this October to showcase at CMJ in NYC.

To celebrate Spookyland’s achievements Tone Deaf is giving one lucky reader the chance to win a double pass to see Spookyland in Sydney on Friday 19 September at Goodgod Small Club. Enter your details below to win!
