Sydney’s Bearhug have just dropped their killer brand new single ‘Animal’ taken from their upcoming LP So Gone (out tomorrow via Spunk Records).

For So Gone, the band decided they wanted to funnel the skeletons of the new songs through rhythmic intensity and guitar noise, rather than jangling guitars and looseness. Based on this ethos, and recorded with Owen Penglis at his brand new Goliath professional recording studio, the sessions consisted of layering upon layers of guitar tracks to produce the sonically dense sound you can hear in this track.

‘Animal’ is just under three minutes of driving, fuzzy guitar pop hanuted by teenage small town dreams of living in city skyscrapers, and experiencing the “city lights”. Be sure to catch the band in action when they play Sydney’s Blurst Of Times Festival.
