Every week a plethora of big name acts, Australian musicians and little-known musos drop brand spankin’ new tracks on the internet. We’ve trawled through the internet to find some of our favourites and plucked them from the masses. Grab your headphones and enjoy.

Joey Bada$$ – ‘Get Paid’

Brookyn rapper Joey Bada$$ has just dropped ‘Get Paid’ the new single off Bada$$ ‘s upcoming debut album. Titled B4.DA.$$, the album is a follow up to his 2013 EP Summer Knights and the (lauded) 2012 mixtape 1999. (LD)

friendships – ‘sorry, i’m sick (Bounty Killer War Dub)’

Back home from slaying n the US, Melbourne duo friendships have just dropped their newest track ‘sorry, i’m sick (Bounty Killer War Dub)’ as a free download on Soundcloud. We recently called them one of Melbourne’s most exciting electronic acts, and with this track- there’s no doubt they live up to that title. (LD)

ScotDrakula – ‘O’Clock’

At a time where it seems that the formula seems to be set at ‘Gritty = Success”, there’s a band that dares to defy. Maybe that’s a bit of a superhero-esque introduction, but Melbourne’s ScotDrakula sure warrant themselves into that level of calibre. On ‘O’Clock’, the lead single from their debut album, ScotDrakula take aim at the past, and surge on by with madness and one of the catchiest rock n roll caricatures of this year. (RS)

Lorde – ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’

“It’s my attempt at getting inside her head, Katniss’,” says Lorde of her new single ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’, set to appear on the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack. The chorus isn’t like anything from her début album Pure Heroine; it’s not danceable nor supremely catchy, but it’s epic – and something that will work perfectly in a climactic scene for the upcoming film. Montgomery – ‘Piñata’

Two weeks ago, tastemakers and local label and I Oh You announced the introduction a brand new artist into the fold, the incredibly talented singer/ songwriter/ producer Montgomery. With the announcement came the news that there would be a Montgomery EP on the horizon. Titled New Clear War and set for release on October 24th (via I Oh You, obviously) the second taste from this upcoming EP is ‘Piñata’. (LD)

Les Sins – ‘Why’ (feat. Nate Salman)

In August we wrote about Chaz Bundick, aka Toro Y Moi’s house track released under the monkier of Les Sins. He’s now dropped ‘Why’ (feat. Nate Salman) the next tantalising taste of his upcoming debut full length LP as Les Sins. An effortlessly upbeat pop dance gem, the more we hear from Les Sins the harder it is to wait for the album. Andras & Oscar – ‘Looking Back’

Andras & Oscar, the combined project of prolific Melbourne pals Andras Fox and Oscar Key Sung, continue to redefine what it means to be smooth in 2014. The song is a pastel-coloured pop track with a tropical flavour, gliding along on a leisurely house melody with plumes of breezy synth chords, summery marimba chimes, and Oscar’s serenading velvety vocals. And* – ‘U Know Me’

The latest in almost impossible to Google band names comes from the co-frontman of Dappled Cities Dave Rennick aka And*. ‘U Know Me’ is the first of five singles to be released, before the full length drops next year, is a disco stomper with a prevalent source of 80s groove running through its blood lines.
