Every week a plethora of big name acts, Australian musicians and little-known musos drop brand spankin’ new tracks on the internet. We’ve trawled through the internet to find some of our favourites and plucked them from the masses. Grab your headphones and enjoy.

The Ocean Party – ‘Head Down’

The Ocean Party are prolific bastards, like Ty Segall, only replacing the over-the-top fuzz with lackadaisical feel-good songs made by twenty-somethings for every demographic under the sun. The second single from their upcoming fourth record Soft Focus, is a little jaunt entitled ‘Head Down’. It’s poppy as hell, like if Kylie Minogue decided she wanted to be in a Dick Diver cover band. The layered guitars lock into the coolest groove this side of Grease Lightning, and show off a sunny, benevolent outlook from the band. (RS)

NO ZU – ‘Raw Vis Vision’

On November 11th, Cut Copy will be releasing Cut Copy Presents: Oceans Apart, a 19 track compilation of some of Melbourne’s best dance acts. The new single by NO ZU ‘Raw Vis Vision’ will feature on the album. (LD)

AC/DC – ‘Play Ball’

AC/DC dropped ‘Play Ball’ the first single off the band’s upcoming, recently announced album Rock Or Bust – the band’s first album of new material in six years, following their immensely successful Black Ice, which entered charts at #1 in 31 countries and has sold nearly 8 million copies worldwide. Sui Zhen – ‘Infinity Street’

Melbourne-based vocalist and producer Sui Zhen makes slick and sugary synth-pop that’s as sweet as fairy-floss, but totally good for your sonic palette. The wonky, ear-worm track has an infectious soundscape where all vocals are air-light and Grimes-level dreamy, bubblegum beats are summery and cucumber-cool, and everything is painted a different shade of pink. Brighter Later – ‘Brace’

Melbourne’s Brighter Later is the musical incarnation of songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Jaye Kranz and her collaborators. Having released an incredibly stunning debut full length last year, the self-produced, Coopers AMP (Australia Music Prize) nominated The Wolves, Kranz and co have now released the brand new single ‘Brace’. In typical Brighter Later fashion ‘Brace’ melts the grandiose and delicate into one, swelling and layering to produce the beautiful four and a half minute track. (LD)

Càbãnå – ‘Done As Dinner’

Càbãnå are three freshly faced teens that hail from the Southern burbs of Melbourne, comprising of Avi, Nate and a special lad by the name of Gab Strum (whom you may know from Japanese Wallpaper glory!) ‘Done As Dinner’ is the first release from the group and with the weather warming, it could not have arrived at a better time. Peter Bibby – ‘Hates My Boozin’

Not everyone gets added to the Laneway Festival lineup with only one two tracks under their belt, but that’s exactly what just happened to Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Peter Bibby. Lifted from his upcoming debut album, Butcher/Hairstylist/Beautician, ‘Hates My Boozin’ is a beer-soaked, jangly guitar ballad that draws parallels to Courtney Barnett’s charming songwriting with an undeniable Dylanesque feel.

Black Cab – ‘Supermädchen’

It’s taken four years, three producers, four studios and fourteen tracks, but Melbourne band Black Cab have finally completed their fourth studio album, Games Of The XXI Olympiad. The double-length album will be out November 7. Their first album in five years, Games Of The XXI Olympiad is an exploration of more electronic territories which you can hear on the lead single from the record ‘Supermädchen’. (LD)
