We’ve been blessed in 2014 with the opening of live music venues around Australia and luckily for Melbourne, this good fortune just keeps on coming.

The Railway Hotel in the city’s northern suburb of Brunswick will re-open its historical doors as of November this year, promising to house a helluva lot of live music and food to the wee hours, as Beat reports.

Although no official date has been confirmed for the big launch party, the Hotel have stated that it will feature live bands as well as DJ sets Wednesday through to Sunday, as well as all day dining and accommodation, so you if you’ve got a chunky wallet, you never have to leave the venue.

The Railway Hotel joins the hearty list of brand-spanking new live music venues that have popped up around the country, including Melbourne’s Shadow Electric band room that powered into full-time, in Sydney there has been the addition of The Roller Den, The Hub, and The Lewisham Hotel, while in Brisbane they’ve witnessed an explosion of great venues with The Brightside, Woolly Mammoth and Triffid which is being built by former Powderfinger bassist John Collins.

Management will reveal opening dates and entertainment in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the Railway Hotel’s site for the exciting details and let us all rejoice that Australia’s music scene has gained another performing platform for our local talent.
