Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders have unveiled their new single, Her Hands, the latest cut to be taken from their highly anticipated fourth album, Playmates. The synth-heavy, retro-tinged track follows on from the album’s warmly received first single, Come On Back This Way, which featured special guest Sharon Van Etten on vocals.

Her Hands is an avant-garde take on classic on synth-pop tropes, which, combined with Ladder’s trademark croon, production from none other than Kim Moyes of The Presets, and a cameo from The Dreamlanders, make for a unique, shadowy, body-moving trip of a second single.

Ladder and his formidable band have also announced the supports for their two album launch dates this November. Melbourne folk vanguard Laura Jean will join Ladder at the Northcote Social Club on 7th November, before the two swap spots when Ladder supports Jean at her own Sydney album launch at The Red Rattler on Friday, 24th October.

Meanwhile, support for the Sydney launch at the Newtown Social Club on 13th November will be provided by fellow synth-pop showman Geoffrey O’Connor, who’ll be airing tunes from his recent full-length effort, Fan Fiction.

With these two quality support acts in tow and Ladder still riding high on the wave of momentum generated by a much talked-about performance at BIGSOUND last month, which saw many punters turned away from a packed room, these two shows are sure to be something special.
