Ásgeir has announced the addition of a second Sydney Opera House performance to his upcoming run of Falls Festival sideshows this January. Due to overwhelming demand, the 22-year-old Icelandic sensation has added a second and final Concert Hall performance at 6:30pm Wednesday, 7th January. Tickets to Ásgeir’s 9pm performance have now completely sold out.

“Sydney’s response to Ásgeir has been phenomenal and we’re thrilled to be able to announce a second performance by this gifted young artist. Catch him on the cusp of lift off this summer – you’ll be hearing a lot more of his name,” said Ben Marshall, Head of Contemporary Music at the Sydney Opera House.

The Iceland native’s chart-topping debut album, In The Silence, has gone on to receive massive praise from numerous prestigious outlets around the world, with critics highlighting the 22-year-old’s delicate guitar work, haunting melodies, and icy soundscapes. Down Under, the album peaked at #8 on the ARIA Chart and was Triple J’s Feature Album during the week of release.

He’s sure to turn plenty of newcomers into lifelong fans during his performances at Sydney’s iconic Opera House and Melbourne’s famous Forum Theatre when he takes the stage with his family-featuring four-piece band.
