If you were hell bent on seeing D’Angelo when he touches down in Australia to make his live debut at the inaugural Soulfest, but missed out on tickets, never fear. The neo-soul mainstay has now announced that he will be performing, live and intimately, during a special sideshow at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Tuesday, 21st October.

Tickets for this once in a lifetime opportunity are on sale now and promoters are stressing that no further shows will be added and no further tickets released, so act fast.

Virginia native D’Angelo is best known for his seminal 2000 album, Voodoo. Released to critical acclaim, it is now considered a vital release in the neo-soul canon and one of the best R&B albums of all time.

Following an extended hiatus, the singer reemerged in 2012 for guest appearances on tracks by peers J Dilla and Common, as well as a European tour and is now poised to show Australian fans why he’s considered one of the best live performers in any genre.
