The organisers of Woodford Folk Festival 2014/2015 have announced an immense lineup for their 29th year as one of Australia’s most renowned music events. Billed as the largest gathering of artist and musicians in Australia, this year’s lineup features the likes of Violent Femmes, The Cat Empire, Kate Miller-Heidke, Sticky Fingers, Husky, and more.

Punters will also be welcoming the new year with Hiatus Kaiyote, Bertie Blackman, Archie Roach, Christine Anu, Lior, and Tiny Ruins, just to name a few. Over 400 acts are expected to descend on Woodford, Queensland this December, presenting 1556 shows in 35 venues over six days and nights.

Also featured is a roster of renowned speakers, story-tellers, and history-makers, including former prime minister Bob Hawke, journalist Rhoda Roberts, actor and Australian national treasure Uncle Jack Charles, stand-up comedian Rod Quantock, Red Dwarf star Robert Llewellyn, and comedian Catherine Deveny.

As per Woodford Folk Festival tradition, organisers recently announced the theme for this year’s festival – the mask. In 2014, punters will be encouraged to create a carnival-like atmosphere featuring ranks of colourful, festive, mysterious, and unique masks, with artist Gavin Ryan commissioned to bring the year’s theme to life within the festival grounds.

Woodford Folk Festival 2014/2015 kicks off Saturday, 27th December 2014 and runs through NYE until Tuesday, 1st January 2015.
