With the lineup set to drop at 6pm tonight, the organisers of Future Music Festival 2015 just couldn’t contain their excitement and have confirmed the first act set to move bodies this February and March. Taking to their official Facebook page, organisers have announced Canadian dance artist Kiesza as the first act set for the Future 2015 lineup.

In a video announcement, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and dancer said she was “super, super pumped” to be heading Down Under and admitted that she’s “been dreaming of coming to Australia my whole life”.

Many eager fans were left disappointed when plans for a one-off Sydney performance as part of a debut Australian promotional visit earlier this year had to be abandoned due to touring commitments Stateside. At the time, Kiesza, real name Kiesa Rae Ellestad, indicated that a full Australian tour was in the works.

Ellestad, who’s written for the likes of Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, and Icona Pop, recently unveiled her debut full-length effort, Sound of a Woman, and has become something of a star on YouTube – the video for her single Hideaway has been viewed over 61 million times.

The dates and venues for Future Music Festival 2015 were announced last week, as well as when fans can expect that all-important lineup. With the rumour mill already churning out names as huge (and diverse) as Basement Jaxx and Iggy Azalea, make sure you stay tuned to Tone Deaf tonight when we’ll have all the details as soon as they’re announced.
