The Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015 freight train just keeps on a-rolling. Having already announced a raft of incredible international and local artists spanning an immense range of genres, the organisers have now added international world music superstars The Gipsy Kings, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, and Jurassic 5.

Rounding out this unreal third round announcement — just the latest in what is sure to be a long annual Bluesfest drip feed — are blues legend John Mayall, Keb Mo, Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin with The Guilty Ones, JJ Grey & Mofro, Tony Joe White, Jon Cleary, and more.

The Bluesfest 2015 lineup kicked off in traditionally spectacular style last month, with organisers announcing headliners The Black Keys, who helmed an initial bill that also featured the likes of Zac Brown Band, Alabama Shakes, Train, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and modern funk progenitors George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic.

This was then supplemented by another formidable wave of acts, including the highly anticipated “premiere reunion” of Ben Harper and his longimte band The Innocent Criminals, as well as Paolo Nutini, David Gray, Ben Howard, Dispatch, Ruthie Foster, and Angelique Kidjo, just to name a few.

“With our third Bluesfest announcement it is all coming together and what a truly great one our 2015 Bluesfest is going to be,” said festival director Peter Noble. “This artist release has the Blues, the Roots, Hip-Hop and Gypsy Flamenco Rhythms – already a perfect mix.”

“Just add to it a dash of Swamp Rock plus some Southern Rock & Soul and you have a fine musical Gumbo brewing up for your listening pleasure next Easter in Byron.”

In addition to the great acts, organisers have announced that in 2015, already confirmed Bluesfest veteran Michael Franti will be presenting Soulshine, a mini-festival within the festival, which will kick off with a pre-concert yoga session accompanied by Franti, his guitarist Jay Bowman, and friends on vocals and guitar. This will be followed by a four-hour concert featuring Franti and his band, Spearhead, SOJA, and Trevor Hall.

The award-winning five-day blues, roots, folk, R&B, and rock and roll event is held annually over the Easter long weekend at the famous Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just north of the buzzing festival hub of Byron Bay. Today’s announcement is just the latest in a series of reveals that will be rolled out in the lead-up to the festival’s launch this April.

Noble is predicting one of the biggest lineups in recent years, with a diverse range of international heavyweights, returning Bluesfest veterans, and plenty of talented festival debutantes. Check below for the current lineup, as well as all the dates and ticketing details.
