The Bronx’s Mexicana flavoured alter-ego Mariachi El Bronx are about to release their third new album, titled III (carrying their history of creative album titles) the record is set for release locally November 7th via White Drugs/ Cooking Vinyl.

Recorded at Haunted Hallow Studios in Charlottesville, Virginia – a private countryside location surrounded by woods and strange sculptures, and with no phone reception, the band spent two weeks with producer John Avila the mastermind behind the band’s first two albums (titled I and II respectively).

III sees the band explore sounds and sonic developments incorporating but diverging from the mariachi genre, this exploration and experimentation included the addition of old sequences, synths and even an ARP.

We recently chatted with the band about their love of Australia, and listening to III it’s easy to see why Australia loves them back. The band will be back here in 2015 to play Bluesfest as well as a number of sideshows, but in the meantime you can listen to III now ahead of its release.
