Melbourne’s most important sailor themed duo The Stiffys (aka Jason Leigh and Adam Stagg) are about to tour next month in celebration of their brand new single ‘Kick Another Flip’, the first track from their upcoming Art Rock EP, as well as a new EP the band will be launching their brand new outfits and style.

To celebrate the band reinvention and their upcoming tour we asked Jason and Adam to tell us educate us on some of the most incredible and inspiring rock n roll reinventions.

Shaquille O’Neal

“Shaquille was just this ordinary guy that played basketball but then out of nowhere he became this phenomenal rapper and we were all like ‘whoah’ – and we invited our neighbour the chad over to watch it and he was like sorry guys I’m busy talking to all these girls on msn messenger, and we were all like seriously the Chad honestly you are literally the coolest guy we know.”

Snoop Lion/ Dogg

“Snoop started as a gangster artist that rapped a lot about smoking marijuana:

But then totally reinvented himself as an artist that sang a lot about smoking marijuana. And now I think he’s returning to being a rapper that mainly focusses on smoking marijuana he’s basically a chameleon.”

Holly Valance

“We thought that Holly Valance had reached the top of her game when she was nominated for the most popular new talent Logie award in the female category in the year two thousand:

But we were wrong Holly Valance went on to become the most successful and critically acclaimed artist of all time. Great job holly never give up on your dreams.”

Jonathan Taylor Thomas

“JTT was terrific as the lead star of home improvement in the nineteen nineties:

And all the girls at school wrote his name on their pencil case, but things went downhill when he joined ‘N Sync:

And pretty much stayed downhill until he met the Neptunes and Chad Hugo gave him the best keys line of all time and suddenly he was cool again.”

Laura Jane Grace

“We didn’t come here to troll anybody but if we’re going to be completely straight with you guys, then we’d have to say that Laura Jane Grace honestly was not that hot in the start:

But then became this massive babe all of a sudden and were like oh ok right.”

Airborne

To be honest Airbourne looked pretty haggard at the start:

But then they must have done pushups or something because they looked great all of a sudden.”

The Stiffys

“The Stiffys rose to prominence two years ago as Melbourne’s and arguably Australia’s preeminent erection based rock band before completely reinventing themselves as massive coolguys that just sang about coolboy stuff like boogie boarding and champagne and girls and now they’re back changing the game up with their art rock sound they just keep bringing it.”
