Recently we reported on the heartless theft of an Aussie musician’s gear from her van, and sadly, we’ve now seen another Australian artists’ equipment stolen.

Perth psych-space rockers Pond, who are currently in the midst of a massive North and South American tour, have had their gear and hard-drives that contained new tracks from their forthcoming LP, Man It Feels Like Space Again stolen from their van early Thursday morning on the 30th October.

The band who had just performed at Doug’s Fir Lounge in Portland, discovered their gear had been flogged between 02:00 – 04:00am. Taking to their official Facebook, the band wrote the following:

Before adding further details to their post,  “The bag was an army green Pelican backpack…pelican bag full of hard drives, usb sticks + licenses, mac book pro and pelican cases (and more .. Like sunnies etc.)”

Pleading to anyone in Portland that may know something to step forward, they continued, “Ps. no questions asked for anyone with any info or esp if they can come up with goods” and asking for any local musos to keep an eye for their stolen equipment.

The Facebook post so far has seen a huge amount of supportive commentary from fans as well as many shares, ensuring the message be spread right across the US city, we just hope this doesn’t place major punctures in the release of their upcoming record, which is set for release on January 23 2015.

The highly anticipated album has already spawned the mind-bending track ‘Elvis’ Flaming Star’, which has a hilarious, very “Pond” styled video clip that sees Nick Allbrook, Jay “GUM” Watson and Shiny Joe Ryan get blasted in silly-string, pelleted with water balloons, light fires, dance shirtless (with a bit of nipple rubbing), just being the general loveable goofs that they are, which you can watch below.

Pond will return to Aussie shores for Perth’s Lost Paradise New Years Eve Festival, as well as St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival in the new year.
