Sad news for fans of Swedish electronic chanteuse Robyn, who has pulled out of a string of scheduled Australian appearances with collaborators Röyksopp. The trio was slated to appear during the upcoming instalment of Falls Festival, as well as a short run of recently announced headline shows.

Falls organisers issued a statement via their Facebook page yesterday, quickly deleted and then reposted this morning, in which they state that Robyn will no longer join Röyksopp for their Australian tour due to “a personal family matter”. They add that they are working on “updates to the line-up which will be released once confirmed.”

Tickets for the Scandinavian trio’s “state-of-the-art” sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne, which were set to feature sets from each act before culminating in a joint performance, failed to go on sale as scheduled yesterday.

The tickets were slated to go on sale at 10am yesterday (Wednesday, 5th November), but promoters Live Nation released a statement in which they claimed that they were unable to go ahead with sales “due to unforeseen developments in recent days”.

While neither act has issued an official statement, the post to the Falls Festival Facebook page suggests Röyksopp will go ahead with the shows without Robyn. Stay tuned to Tone Deaf for more details as they arrive.
