Following Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah’s announcement last week, the touring mogul has now taken to his beloved Twitter account to confirm that the highly anticipated Soundwave 2015 second lineup announcement will not be revealed this week as promised. However, Maddah did confirm the addition of a new act to the lineup, Nonpoint.

Asked last week when fans could expect the second lineup, which follows on from an initial announcement featuring the likes of Slipknot, Soundgarden, and Faith No More, Maddah told the curious Twitter follower that organisers would be making the announcement “in the next 10 days for sure”, later reiterating that it was coming this week.

However, Maddah’s Twitter announcement early last night was not one of sheer jubilation. “I have good news, bad news and mediocre news,” he wrote. He went on to explain that the lineup has been delayed by his “good news”, i.e. his decision to add three more bands to the festival’s 2015 lineup.

The lineup is now expected some time next week. “As thanks for your patience, I’ll announce two bands by giving clues until someone wins. Winner gets tour of #SW15 backstage,” added Maddah. Following several clues handed out by the promoter, it wasn’t long before one fan hit on Fort Lauderdale metal troop Nonpoint.

Maddah has confirmed that one of the three bands he’s “trying to book” for the second announce is much-coveted Ohio outfit Relient K. According to the Soundwave founder, fans can expect confirmation of who the other new band is at 8pm tonight.

Maddah has been teasing the second announcement for several months now, previously telling punters that he has “around 14 bands” left over for a supplementary announcement as a result of some acts who “couldn’t get their shit together in time” for the first announcement.

Last month, Maddah elated many Soundwave devotees after tweeting that an anonymous “supergroup” would be added to the lineup. “You want supergroups? We have got supergroups!,” he wrote, adding the intriguing hashtags, “#SW15 #JusticeLeagueOfRock”.
