Oh my, the hype for Gorillaz’ headline slot at Glastonbury tonight UK time has reached fever pitch with the news that the grumpiest man in rock n’ roll, Lou Reed, will be joining the band at the festival. In what is a massive coup for the band and for the festival, it has been revealed that Reed – who joined the band on stage at London’s Roundhouse last month to provide guest vocals on the track Some Kind of Nature – will be making the trek to the festival’s Pyramid Stage.

“Lou Reed’s arriving and, fingers crossed, coming straight to rehearsal. And then we watch the game,” Damon Albarn told Britain’s Radio 4. “This morning I woke up and the first thing I felt a wave of anxiety about – is an audience that size going to respond to our songs? I don’t know.”
