There’s no question that the annual South By South West (SXSW) music and arts conference is the Mecca of all music festivities for punters as well as the ultimate performance opportunity for up-and-coming artists, and for four more lucky Aussies, 2015 will be their year to shine.

The 29th conference will take place between March 17 – March 22 in the world’s live music capital, Austin Texas, with hundreds of artists having already been confirmed to perform throughout the city.

Within this curated line-up are the shapeshifting garage meets emotional rockers Gang Of Youths, who’ve had a mammoth year with the release of the lengthy indie rock jam ‘Poison Drum’ and the haunting ‘Riverlands’.

In addition to this, Melbourne’s very own shining neo-soul stars Hiatus Kaiyote will blitz Austin next year. The band have gained such a following after the release of their record Tawk Tomahawk last year, earning a Grammy nomination for Best RnB Performance category which also led to the band performing at the ceremony.

Lenka will also proudly fly the Aussie flag in Texas next year. Having released her stunning third record Shadows in 2013, the songstress has gone from strength to strength, creating a massive international fanbase after extensive touring.

Last but most certainly not least is Sydney three-piece Mansionair. The electronica-based outfit have charmed Aussie hearts with their incredibly lush and haunting tunes like the adored ‘Hold Me Down’.

SXSW is one of the best places for new and emerging artists from every pocket of the globe to perform, with a huge amount of industry leaders making the trip to the Texan city in search of “the next best thing”, we’re certain our Aussies will absolutely smash it.

These four deserving artists join hundreds of performers including UK post-punk legends Gang of Four, Cuban hiphop duo Los Aldeanos, Berlin-based Cómeme DJ Matias Aguayo, Hyperdub producer Ikonika, indie-poster Twin Shadow and ’90s shoegaze legends Swervedriver, you can dig the full list here.
