This Friday the 21st of November marks the release date of Australian’s much-loved music, radio, TV and media personality Ella Hooper long awaited debut solo LP titled, In Tongues.

Produced by Jan Skubizewski (Way Of The Eagle, Owl Eyes, John Butler Trio, Illy) the process behind the making of In Tongues has been quite an experience, as Ella explains “making In Tongues has been an incredible journey for me, and a massive learning curve I needed to go through as an artist.”

Ella’s musical life began at the tender age of 13, fronting the iconic rock four-piece, Killing Heidi. Over the band’s ten-year career they won four ARIA awards, had top ten hits including ‘Mascara’, ‘Weir’ and ‘Live Without You’, and took out the 2001 APRA Songwriter Of The Year. After forming The Verses with brother Jesse, which saw them support Fleetwood Mac.

Not one to sit still, Ella then ventured into radio in 2011 hosting the popular ‘Australian Top 20’ on Austereo’s FOX FM, ending her acclaimed role with the station this month. This year also saw the artist become a team captain on the comeback series of Spicks and Specks, as well as continuing her MC duties for the Telstra Road To Discovery musical program

Having already released three singles ‘Häxan’, ‘Low High’ and ‘The Red Shoes’, from the album to a warm reception, taking her solo endeavour to the public has definitely been a roller coaster of emotions and experiences. “It’s been at times difficult and terrifying but also incredibly fun and freeing. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. But I’m so proud of where it’s ended up, being as intensely personal and sonically adventurous as it is” says Ella.

To celebrate, Ella will be performing a special one-off show at Ding Dong Lounge on Saturday the 6th December, for tickets and info visit www.ellahooper.net.au.
