Alt-metal icons Faith No More have just unveiled their first single in 17 years and it’s almost as though they never left. The new track, ‘Motherfucker’, has all the fury, experimentalism, and tongue-in-cheek humour we’ve come to expect from the Mike Patton-led group, who will soon be touching down for Soundwave 2015.

The band debuted the song during their performance in London’s Hyde Park as part of the British Summer Time Festival back in July, quickly sending fans into a frenzy after the legendary group previously hinted that they would be reactivating to write and record new material.

According to a recent interview with bass player Billy Gould, who produced ‘Motherfucker’, the band have in fact been working on new material for “probably a year and a half”. The bassist told Rolling Stone that the band are “pretty far into” their seventh album, which will be a totally independent release.
