Smashing Pumpkins – ‘Tiberius’

You’ve got to hand it to the resilient frontman and mastermind behind The Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, the man can definitely pen a tune, and his fresh single with the band is no exception. The new song is heavily laden with the Pumpkins’ booming, layered guitar effects with the interesting addition of tiptoeing synths that drive the 3-minute track.

Driven by a bold, slow piano progression, this hair-raising ballad sees Jesso tell the struggling story of his artistic endeavours which harkens to the early days of Tom Waits’ honest and intimate tellings.
