Machinedrum – ‘Come1’

This track has a great double time/half time feel that got me straight away. I’ve also got a soft spot for those housey piano chords at the beginning, takes me back to some 90’s rave type shit.

Hudson Mohawke – ‘Fuse’

I never get sick of that melody, it’s so anthemic! The perfect amount of Celtic and dope melodic sensibility. What can I say it’s a classic, amazing production from one of the game’s finest.

Lido – ‘I Love You (Hoodboi Remix)’

Such a great flip of Lido’s title track off his debut EP. Something about the energy of that chordal riff just makes me really happy and wanna jump around. A great pair up that hopefully we’ll get to hear again sometime.

James Blake feat Chance The Rapper – Life Round Here

This was my favourite tune on Overgrown when I first started listening to this record. Shortly after I was introduced to Acid Rap by Chance The Rapper so when this collab popped up I was in heaven. Those chunky synth riffs and raw 808 style beat with James and Chance bouncing off each other is such a jam.

Bag Raiders – ‘Nairobi’

I love the driving force behind this track. Great fun thumb piano melodies and when the drop happens and the steam train whistle comes in, you know there’s no stopping till the tracks done.

Jai Paul – ‘Jasmine’

This track just set a new level of production that blew everything out of the water. Mad driving beat and bassline, beautiful yet haunting vocals over the top, with some super smooth bass playing thrown in, this one always gets me movin!

SBTRKT- ‘The Light’

It’s all about the hypnotic bed that accompanies Denai Moore’s angelic voice that swirls around your ears like liquid gold. This tune is probably more entrancing than dancing but a must have in this list none the same.

Swim Good – ‘Frank Ocean’

The first tune I ever heard from Frank and it’s still my favourite. Classic boom-bap production with some of the sweetest melodies and lyrics that always gets me singing along.
