Just last week the legendary guys from Cut Copy released a killer documentary on Melbourne’s underground electronica world, and as of this week, Aussie music management crew Astral People in conjunction with FBi Radio have revealed a documentary on Sydney’s vibrant indie music scene.

The 16-minute doco entitled Astral People: Our Own Identity introduces Sydney management Astral People and their artist roster whilst examining their role in the ever-evolving Australian electronic music scene.

Having created a place for both DJs and more band-orientated electronica, the video sees Astral People founders Vic, Tom and Leron detail their rise to prominence from young music obsessed lads to one of Sydney’s most revered promoters, party-throwers and of course, management teams.

Set to the fast-paced and vibrant backdrop of Astral People’s 3rd Birthday at Goodgod Small Club, the piece features interviews from Wave Racer, Jonti, Rainbow Chan, Mike Who, Alba whom all detail their appreciation of Astral People and their strong influence in establishing and maintaing an electronic scene in Sydney.

On top of this, the documentary features live performances from Collarbones and Rainbow Chan.

It’s a pretty exciting time for Astral People, who will have many of their artists feature on the the upcoming Outside In Festival in Sydney Saturday 29th November.
