The organisers of Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015 have just announced the addition of another act to next year’s rapidly growing lineup, one that is sure to cement 2015 as one of the best years in the festival’s history. Making his long-awaited Bluesfest debut in 2015 will be Lenny Kravitz, who’ll be appearing as part of his worldwide Strut tour.

Kravitz will appear with his full band, comprised of 16 renowned musicians, who’ll be blitzing the Bluesfest stage during the festival’s opening night on Thursday, 2nd April. The performance will mark the only Australian show that the rock and roll giant has ever performed north of Sydney, as well as only his third Australian tour in over 20 years.

“Our first night at Bluesfest is gonna be rocking. We have blues rock superstar Lenny Kravitz in the house on the Thursday, along with the Counting Crows, Ben Howard, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Jimmy Cliff, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood and so many more. Thursday at Bluesfest is going to be massive,” said festival founder Peter Noble.

“It has taken us years of negotiations and now, one of my dreams as a Festival Director is about to come true. Lenny Kravitz has the hits – the charisma – the show. He is one of the greats of the modern rock era. He is the icing on the cake, for what is shaping to be one of our best ever Bluesfests.”

Armed with a critically acclaimed new album, Strut, Kravitz will be wowing crowds with a raft of new tracks as well as classic tunes from his distinguished career, like ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’, ‘It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over’, ‘Fly Away’, ‘American Woman’, and ‘Always on the Run’.
