Formed in 2012, True are an R&B influenced, futuristic synth-pop two piece from Switzerland comprised of Daniela Sarda (vocals and keys) and Rico Baumann (keys, drums, drum machines and sound design).

In the latest instalment of their series of live videos, the pair have released What I’ve Lost‘ a syrupy, anthemic radio ballad infused with a rich dose of bitter-sweet introspection. The song recounts real-life loss and the trying trials of the search for acceptance. It’s a sugar coated, gut-wrenching confession.

The song was written by accident, as drummer Rico explains “we actually wrote this song by accident. We had to rehearse for a show, but haven’t seen each other for a while before that. It was a time of significant changes in our lives, so we ended up talking for hours, the way friends do. When we finally started to play, this song just happened. It took about half an hour and it was done.”

The video for ‘What I’ve Lost’ is only one part of an ongoing video series from the duo, as Rico explains ” it’s the follow up to ‘Colors Of my Estimation’,  which is the visual opposite to ‘Lost’.

We’re intrigued by the fact that things aren’t always what they seem at first glance. This ideas is already in our band name. When you look at our logo a bit closer, you realize it’s anything but true or real. The same goes for these two songs. ‘Colors’ is a very dark, sad ballad and the video is mainly black, you can hardly see us, while ‘Lost’ is very bright, with it’s bouncy beat and sugary chords. But if you pay attention to the lyrics, things start to look a little different.. “Lost” is actually a very sad song.

The other special thing about these videos is that it’s a all a live performance. The songs sound quite different from the studio versions.” We can’t wait to see what’s next from these guys. For more info in this intriguing two piece, visit their Facebook page.
