With the completion of the prestigious ARIA Awards just last night alongside the announcement of Triple J’s coveted J Awards earlier this month, November has been a time to celebrate what an incredible year our homegrown artists have had, and the following video of one of our freshest faces is a shining example of this sunny notion.

Oliver Perry, more formally recognised under the performing moniker of D.D. Dumbo, is one of many Aussie musicians that have taken 2014 by storm, having exploded from his bedroom of central Victorian town Castlemaine to the stages of Pitchfork Music Festival Paris, a prestigious event that included the likes of The War On Drugs, Chvrches, Caribou, Belle & Sebestian and many more hand-picked artists.

The following two live clips guest Dumbo alone on-stage performing his buoyant shimmering tune ‘Brother’ as well as his break-out tune, the vocally soaring ‘Tropical Oceans’, provided by the good folk at Pitchfork.

Playing to a sizeable audience, Dumbo absolutely smashes through both of his warming tunes, emphatically proving that there’s nothing boring nor limiting to a one-man-band.

Dumbo has had a killer year, his name soaring in both national and international popularity as he continually tours around the globe, charming all hearts in his wake. Earlier this year, he received an epic label deal that secured him with 4AD, being only the fourth Australian

On top of that, May saw the Castlemaine producer and guitar wizard win a $10,000 Mushroom Music Publishing Grant, with the funds to be used towards the recording of a follow-up to D.D Dumbo’s sole release, the 2013 self-titled EP that contained his breakout single ‘Tropical Oceans‘.

These clips are just another notch on his belt of dizzying success, we cannot wait to see what the impressive artist will conjure up next.
