Several music industry outlets have been affected by the violent storm that hit Brisbane yesterday, with the Brisbane headquarters of Australian ticketing giant Oztix sustaining major damage and a Broods gig slated for the Hi-Fi cancelled due to a power outage.

“A short time ago, Brisbane was hit by a massive hailstorm. Oztix HQ has suffered significant damage to the office and equipment,” reads a statement released by the ticket provider.”

“Thankfully no one was injured, but the clean-up process ahead of us will be quite a task. The office is currently without mains power.”

“Rest assured our Ticketing System has not been affected in any way, thus all events are still online and selling,” Oztix insists. “We do request your patience at this time whilst we work through the clean-up and get things back on track.”

“We are endeavouring to be fully operational by 9 am (Brisbane time) tomorrow morning, however for urgent enquiries during this time, please call our normal Client Services number (07 3503 6806) and we will action your request as soon as possible.”

A video posted to the retailer’s official Facebook page, which readers can check out in the embed below, shows intense winds and rain blowing through office windows that have been smashed in by hail stones, destroying blinds as workers look on.

Meanwhile, Broods’ promoter, Live Nation, have released a statement in which they write that the Hi-Fi suffered a major power outage due to the storm and owners were not able to confirm if power could be restored in time to go ahead with the gig, forcing them to cancel.

According to a Facebook post from Brisbane venue The Zoo, the storm caused four broken windows but no other significant damage was reported. Brisbane Entertainment Centre management also took to Twitter to confirm that a planned performance from Katy Perry was going ahead.

As ABC News reports, the super storm that hit Queensland’s south-east has left tens of thousands of residents without power and has caused transport delays. However, despite a clean-up bill estimated to exceed $100 million, there were no fatalities reported.
