Are you a guitarist who loves altering your sonics through MIDI devices but sometimes find it a little too complex or laborious? Well, thanks to application that’s soon to be released, creating unique sounds through MIDI is going to be come a lot more easier.

Introducing MondoMIDI, an app designed for the likes of smart phones and tablets that takes the traditional MIDI device and places it entirely on a touchscreen, providing a very simple display of each sound-altering option, as A Journal Of Musical Things.

President and CEO of  MondoMIDI Sanjay Belkhode has provided a four-minute video that shows the brand new application in action, highlighting the ease of shifting from multiple MIDI-box devices to just one screen.

For those that aren’t overly schooled in the world of musical technology, a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is a device that alters the sound of a guitar, allowing users to change the effects of their instrument, one step at a time.

By switching to the MondoMIDI, musicians will now be able to see multiple effects that they can control on one screen, allowing for a much easier method of mixing different sounds that extend beyond the presets saved in a standard MIDI device.

On top of this, new presets of sound can be saved straight onto the device, removing the pain of having to write down each new setting. Pretty rad for writing new material, right?

Whilst this is revolutionary for creating new sounds, MondoMIDI could be massive for live performances too. With the opportunity to warp sounds live through this simple app, we could be looking at the beginning of the end for traditional guitar effects pedals and the like, as musicians opt for the easy approach onstage approach.

With this incredible new technology, maybe we’ll see many more genius sounds like our own wizard, Kevin Parker. Dig the way of the future with Belkhode below:
