Do you have a passion for discovering new up-and-coming Aussie musicians but often don’t know where to begin? Well, have we got the ultimate tool for you.

Thanks to a fantastic new initiative courtesy of Australia’s Radio Network’s (ARN) iHeartRadio platform, Australian digital broadcasting will now see a new online radio station entitled Unsigned Bands, which as the name aptly suggests, will feature music of only unsigned Australian artists, which can be accessed online or via smartphone applications.

Born from the collaborative efforts of Australia Radio Network and Unsigned Bands Australia, an organisation who provide a free platform artists and bands to showcase and promote their music, videos, photos, and gigs, the object of Unsigned Bands Radio is rather akin to Triple J’s Unearthed program, aiming  to provide recording artists with their very own place to be heard with the hopes of greater exposure to propel their career forward.

Lisa Nowosad, founder of Unsigned Bands Australia, said the new iHeartRadio station is a great initiative to improve opportunities and promotion for local artists and bands.

“I want to help enrich our local music culture by giving artists and bands from all genres of music the best chance to reach out to new and existing audiences. This iHeartRadio station – Unsigned Bands – is a great new opportunity for bands and artists to get their music out to audiences. There are so many ridiculously talented bands and artists working away, I want to be able to assist them to be recognised and, of course, put on great live music events through the Unsigned Bands Australia platform.”

This is a spectacular movement for pushing out new Aussie music, for any of you unsigned bands out there that would love to have your sounds permeate through radio speakers, simply visit Unsigned Bands, start a profile and submit your tunes.
