Footage has surfaced of a wild brawl that erupted during last weekend’s Sydney leg of the Stereosonic 2015 music festival. The fight involved up to 20 punters who began punching and scrapping with each other seemingly indiscriminately, leaving one man unconscious on the ground.

As readers can see in the footage below, one man in blue shorts, who is seen in a fighting stance and throwing punches earlier in the video, is suddenly punched in the chin by a fellow punter en route to another brawl that was happening nearby. The man immediately falls to the ground unconscious as the fights continue around him.

According to News Corp, it’s not known if the unconscious man sustained any serious injuries (security guards are seen attending to him later in the clip) or if any arrests were made in relation to the brawl. However, NSW Police say the incident is yet to be officially reported.

In a disturbing twist, many of the revellers depicted in the clip continue dancing gleefully as the carnage goes on around them. However, towards the end of the video, a number of distressed young women can be seen trying to extract themselves from the chaos, with one pleading, “Stop, I’m trying to get her out.”

As a performance by Showtek happens in the background, security guards can finally be seen entering the fray and attempting to stop the brawl, though the size of the group and of the men involved appear to make it difficult for the guards to bring the situation under control.

“This is what happens when you get a bunch of full high level testosterone drunken half wits together in the same place,” one Facebook user said. In another clip, which readers can view below, up to seven security guards are seen attempting to subdue just one man.

While the incident has not been formally reported to the police, NSW Police issued a statement to Fairfax, saying “the violent nature of the incident” is of “major concern” to them. “It reflects on the disappointing behaviour of some of those who attended the event,” they added.

Despite what police described as a high-visibility operation in place during the festival, involving officers from the South West Metropolitan Region, drug-detection dogs, the Public Order and Riot Squad, Mounted Unit, and Police Transport Command, no officers can be seen attending to the brawl in the clip.

The major police operation did, however, result in the searches of more than 830 of the approximately 81,000 punters attending the festival over the Saturday and Sunday. 221 Stereosonic revellers were charged with drug offences, and 13 were hospitalised with one man found not breathing at the site.

Police reportedly found 196 people in possession of prohibited drugs at the festival, including MDMA, cocaine, cannabis, GHB, and Ketamine, while, 13 were charged with supplying a prohibited drug, 169 with possession of a prohibited drug, and 14 people also received cannabis cautions.
