It’s been a bit of a battle for international artists and successful touring in Australia this year, already we’ve seen a slew of artists cancel tour and festival performances, and sadly, this shattering news continues.

Hiphop titans DMX and T.I who were set to begin their highly anticipated three-date “Double Up” tour of Australia’s east coast beginning tomorrow night, has now been cancelled as Fasterlouder reports.

Promoters Karma Productions announced the shock cancellation last night, stating that it was “circumstances beyond our control”, providing detail on their official Facebook:

Despite the fact that this news has crushed thousands of fans, there has been a dark cloud surrounding the forthcoming tour, with DMX posting tweets that contracts with promoters had not be honoured, stating that the tour was “on hold” a few days later the pendulum swinging the other way, seeing the emcee tweeting “BACK ON !!!”. Neither DMX nor T.I have made a comment on the cancellation so far.

The year 2014 has been a particularly tough one for Aussie fans of rap and hiphop, with the likes of Action Bronson cancelling both his performance at Groovin’ The Moo Festival earlier this year as well as his New Years Eve tour, not to mention Kanye West left us all hanging by postponing his tour, and looking more broadly, who could forget the heartbreaking cancellation of The Rolling Stones at Hanging Rock.

Whilst many ticket holders are taking to Karma Productions in protest, all have been assured that news will be updated within the next 48 hours.
