Melbourne’s own Stax Osset has unveiled her stellar and self-produced first single, ‘Symmetry’, which draws equal parts inspiration from childhood nostalgia (The NeverEnding Story features heavily) and a personal fascination with the universal human experience (y’know, love, loss, happiness, and despair).

The singer and producer is part of the new guard of Australian electronic artist/producers who’ve been flying the flag overseas, but her immaculate fusion of quintessentially Britney-esque bubblegum with something utterly extra-terrestrial, paired with her lyrics, strewn with oblique references to cultural symbolism and transcendence of human life, make Stax something totally unique.

‘Symmetry’ represents Stax’s first fully-realised single, following a raft of demos released online, as well as a guest appearance on Allday’s debut LP, Startup Cult, on the interlude ‘Milligrams’, which the Melbourne rapper recently fleshed out into a full song following popular demand.
