With Australia’s favourite alternative radio station Triple J having already dished out their best-of awards for 2014, as well as the staff providing their top records from the year, it’s now up to the public to cast their votes for their favourite tracks of 2014, and to give you a little inspiration, some artists have shared their top 10 votes for the best song of 2014 as Triple J point out (via Fasterlouder.)

Four artists including Aussie favourites alt-J, the terror twosome Royal Blood, 2013’s winner Vance Joy and unearthed artist of 2014 Meg Mac have all detailed their treasured tunes of 2014, which has seen seem some fairly disparate results.

Pop-soul groovers Jungle with their infectious track ‘Busy Earnin” lead the artist nominated charge, followed closely by Irish singer-songwriter Hozier for ‘Take Me To The Church’ whilst Ryan Adams is the only artist multiple entry with tracks ‘Gimme Something Good’ and ‘Trouble’.

From an Aussie standpoint, the list features a boastful amount of homegrown artists, from the record smashing Iggy Azalea to newcomers such as the young art-popster Montaigne, not to mention to the addition of a Like A Version by James Vincent McMorrow for Lana Del Rey’s ‘West Coast’, which was also voted for by Royal Blood, the hard-hitting duo clearly fond of the track after they too released a scorching rendition earlier this year.

Despite these being only 40 entries to 2014’s Hottest 100, there are some fairly noticeable omissions, such as War On Drugs for ‘Red Eyes’, Chet Faker’s ‘Talk Is Cheap’, Milky Chance’s ‘Stolen Dance’, Future Island’s ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’ or Peking Duk’s ‘High, just to mention a very short few, which suggests this year’s poll is pretty damn tough.

Cast your vote over at Triple J, and while you’re at it, throw your stone in for our fifth annual poll too.
