Set at Triple J HQ, the clip open up with beloved breakfast show hosts Matt and Alex convening a fellowship of music’s best and brightest to write a theme song for Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown, the votes for which, if you’ve been paying attention, are now open.

In addition to the aforementioned stars, the clip is rounded out by appearances from Flume, First Aid Kit, Illy, Allday, The Jezebels, Disclosure, Reggie Watts, Alt-J, Paul Kelly, Steve Aoki, Gotye, Angus & Julia Stone, Peking Duk, Ben Folds, and even Rick Astley, who proves to be the project’s unravelling.

As per tradition, voting is kept open for 30 days (it opened Monday, 15th December), and the results are then played in full from #100 to the highly coveted #1 on Australia Day. The past year’s countdown was famously topped by Vance Joy and his ubiquitous hit ‘Riptide’, followed by Lorde, Daft Punk, Arctic Monkeys, and Lana Del Rey.

Giving fans an indication of where listeners’ heads are at this year, Triple J recently unveiled their poll of station listeners’ favourite albums of the year, a list topped by Chet Faker’s Built on Glass, Ball Park Music’s Puddinghead, and Alt-J’s This Is All Yours.

Meanwhile, Triple J just had a bunch of prominent musos, including Vance Joy himself, share their votes, with Vance giving some love to Chet Faker and Airling, Meg Mac digging Bon Iver and Kimbra, Royal Blood appreciating Lana Del Rey and Jack White, and Alt-J giving it up for Busdriver and Arca.
