The year 2014 has been an absolute smash for Canadian jangle-pop goofster Mac DeMarco, dropping his stellar record Salad Days which spawned the unlikely space-rock hit ‘Chamber Of Reflection’, which spiked the interest of the ever-popular rapper Wiz Khalifa who has reimagined the tune and of course, it’s entitled ‘Smoke Chambers’.

Sonically, Khalifa has left the dreamy, synth-laden stargaze track untouched, instead rapping to a slower tempo, getting a lil’ deep as he spits “time and time again I’m searchin’ for reality and feelin’ so alone” as DeMarco’s original downtrodden “alone again, alone again” chorus joins Wiz, the pair resembling two lost boys as they stare in the face of stardom.

Khalifa’s “smoke ’em up” version is pretty tight, the emcees relaxed raps over DeMarco’s ’80s beats come together seamlessly, maybe the track could spark the beginning of an interesting collab in the future.
