Big Freedia, the undisputed Queen Diva and New Orleans ambassador of bounce, returns to Australia this summer with her phenomenally high energy, ultra positive club shows and workshops.

Heating up the stage in Sydney will be hip shakers Black Vanilla, the multi-talentedLEVINS doing a Nola Bounce set and DJ Sveta behind the decks for Big Freedia. While in Melbourne it’ll be, glowing synth-popsters GL, HTML Flowers, the always incredible Grouse DJs and YO! MAFIA on the decks for Freedia.

Towering MC Big Freedia and her powerhouse dance posse ‘The Divas’ will teach and command you to bounce to Freedia‘s one-of-a-kind, speedy, bass heavy beats before each show – expect a demonstration of bouncing from the Queen herself and some interactive Q&A – wear something comfortable and fabulous.

If you were lucky enough to see Freedia‘s Melbourne shows in 2012, you’d understand why she featured in so many Best Live Shows of The Year lists.

A vibrant twist on hip-hop, Bounce is characterised by call-and-response lyrics over hyper frenetic beats (usually over the “Triggerman” beat). Acts like DJ Jubilee, Katy Red and Big Freedia have been running the club scene in New Orleans for over two decades.

With a seemingly neverending run of tour dates, FUSE TV’s hit reality show,Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce now entering it’s second season, and the release of her critically acclaimed LP Just Be Free, Big Freedia has well and truly brought bounce to the worldwide stage.
To celebrate, Tone Deaf are giving readers the chance to win a double pass to head along to Freedia’s Melbourne twerkshop and show on Tuesdsay 30th December @ Howler. Enter your details below for a chance to win!
