Laura Marling has announced her return with a highly anticipated new album titled Short Movie, which is set for release Friday, 20th March via Caroline Australia / Virgin Records. Laura recently announced the album through her social media channels, garnering excitement from numerous influential publications.
Her fifth album in just seven years, Short Movie is not only a remarkable achievement for someone who is not even 25 years old, but signals a new chapter in the sonic progression and artistic development of this talented young singer and songwriter, bearing a freer and looser sound than anything released previously.
“I realised that I hadn’t been in place for longer than two or three weeks since I was 16. I thought I wonder what will happen if I try and root myself somewhere? Look back over the past eight years,” said Laura, highlighting Short Movie as the result of a conscious attempt to change routine and reflect.
