While the rest of us are working on staying with our respective New Year’s resolutions, acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Sally Seltmann decided things like joining a gym and quitting smoking were small potatoes. Instead, she’s announced the launch of her very own record label and a new single.
Seltmann has dubbed her new label Three Of Hearts, with her latest single, ‘We Are The Music’ set for release via the label on Tuesday, 20th January. The energetic and upbeat new single, a new collaboration with husband Darren Seltmann, and Canadian musicians Jon Lawless (Swim Good) and Aaron Mohr, is available is available to pre-order now via iTunes.
Created in various studios across the USA and Canada, ‘We Are The Music’ is the first new music from Sally since the release of her fourth full-length album, Hey Daydreamer, back February 2014. “Jon [Lawless] contacted me and asked if I’d like to do something with an instrumental track he was working on,” said Seltmann of the track’s creation.
“I loved the track so much! I cut up sections, and moved things around a bit, wrote lyrics and melody over the top, and then Darren and I worked on it some more.” The resulting song is an infectious pop earworm that celebrates life, music, and the electricity and spark created by two people “moving together, like lovers on a first date”.
“It’s where my head’s at right now,” said Seltmann. “I just want to make music that makes people happy.” Something that will make Seltmann’s fans very happy is the upcoming reissue of her entire back catalog via Three Of Hearts, including her 2010 acclaimed album, Heart That’s Pounding, as well as all of the New Buffalo albums.
