In the time it’s taken you to read this sentence, Dr. Dre has earned just over a hundred dollars. Regardless of how slow one might read, the hip-hop mogul is earning cash at a staggering rate by anyone’s standards. As for Beyonce, she’ll have earned just over $60 by the end of this paragraph.

Using data from Forbes’ annually published list of the highest earning musicians for 2014, Sky Range have compiled a page of the “Highest Paid Music Stars In 2014″, which allows users to watch how much musicians like Justin Timberlake and Drake earn in real time.

The counter starts running as soon as you load the page and from there you can keep track of the second-by-second earnings of a selection of AAA-rated bands, pop superstars, rappers, producers, moguls, country music stars, as well as singers and solo acts.

According to Sky Range’s calculations, thanks to the sale of Beats Electronics to Apple in May, Dr. Dre towered over the entire music world, earning approximately $20 per second in 2014, and making more money that year than any musician has ever made in a single year before.

That achievement naturally saw him top almost every list of music’s high-earners including Forbes‘ Hip Hop Cash Kings 2014 and World’s Highest-Paid Musicians. According to the financial bible, Dre’s wheelings and dealings saw him take in a $620 million payday in 2014 (before taxes).

However, pop and R&B queen Beyonce was in fact the highest paid musician overall in terms of getting paid for actually releasing music, and with earnings of $3.65 per second, Bey was far and away the top paid female musician in 2014, beating out Taylor Swift ($2.03 per second), Rihanna ($1.52 per second), and Pink ($1.65 per second).

As the highest earning band of 2014, rock legends The Eagles were raking in an incredible $3.17 per second last year, thanks in large part to their History Of The Eagles tour, which helped them earn more than Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and Miley Cyrus combined.

Breaking down the earnings of other high-ranking groups, we find that stadium veterans Bon Jovi were bringing in $2.60 per second, One Direction $2.38 per second, The Rolling Stones $1.49 per second, while Muse saw $1.08 going into their bank accounts each second, based on their 2014 earnings.

Meanwhile, EDM juggernaut Calvin Harris’ button-pushing was netting him a healthy income of $2.09 per second, Jay-Z and Diddy were going head to head at $1.90 per second, Toby Keith was ruling country, fiscally speaking, by taking in $2.06 per second, and Bruce Springsteen’s $2.57 a second income made him the second-highest earning solo male star.
