We may only be a couple of weeks into 2015 but boyo there has been some fantastic news for live music fans. Melbourne has already seen a slew of free summer series announced in the likes of Fitzroy Gardens, the NGV and the Fairfield amphitheatre, and now it’s Sydney’s turn for incredible live music in the most perfect of locations.

Riding the wave of big name announcements into the New Year, the Hurley Australian Open of Surfing held at Manly Beach from 7th – 15th February is kick starting 2015 with the addition of more big name artists to the free music line-up.

Aussie alternative indie dance trio Jagwar Ma have been confirmed to light up the Channel [V] Stage on Friday 13th January. The new band will join chart topper Vance Joy who will take to the stage on Saturday 14th February. Warming up the crowds for Vance Joy, as part of the line-up at the free one-of-a-kind all-ages festival at Manly Beach is indie pop band, San Cisco.

Owned and operated by IMG, with the support of Hurley and the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, the nine day Hurley Australian Open event is renowned for bringing world–class surf, skate, music and lifestyle activations right to Sydney shores.

The Australian Open of Surfing is gearing up to be one of the hottest events of summer, after all, it’s not often a trio of mass musical talent come together for a free concert, let alone in such a gnar location. If you’re in Sydney over this weekend and call yourself a lover of live music, there’s simply no other place you can be.
