We love the Bluesfest drip feed. Just when you think that organisers have run out of ideas and frankly, available talent, they somehow manage to outdo themselves and add even more. Case in point, a whole raft of great new acts have just been added to the Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015 lineup, including Hozier, The Waterboys, Switchfoot, Diesel, and more.

“We have such an exciting sixth announcement in what is a watershed year for Bluesfest,” said director Peter Noble. “A genuine new superstar of blues & roots music – Hozier, Celtic legends The Waterboys, New Zealand’s all-star music collective Fly My Pretties on their first ever Australian festival appearances… and to top it off – country hottest new artist, Hunter Hayes.”

The Bluesfest 2015 lineup just keeps growing, expanding from an initial announcement that featured the likes of The Black Keys and Alabama Shakes, to a who’s who of local and international blues, roots, rock, folk, funk, R&B, and reggae talent, including heavyweights like Lenny Kravitz and Train, as well as local favourites like Steve Smyth.

Best of all, Noble says that organisers aren’t done just yet, advising punters to stay on the lookout for some upcoming announcements that we reckon will be packed with pleasant surprises. “We are now putting the final slatherings on the 2015 Bluesberry cake, with a few more surprises up our sleeve – this just may be our best serving yet,” he said.

The award-winning five-day celebration of music is held annually over the Easter long weekend at the famous Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just north of the buzzing Australian festival hub of Byron Bay. Today’s announcement is just the latest in a series of reveals that will be rolled out in the lead-up to the festival’s launch this April.

Noble is still predicting one of the biggest lineups in recent Bluesfest memory, with a diverse range of international superstars, returning Bluesfest veterans, and plenty of talented festival debutantes slated to hit the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm this April.
