It’s all happening for Dorsal Fins. In addition to recently signing to renowned indie label Remote Control Records, the Melbourne ten-piece have announced the release of debut album, Mind Renovation, which is slated to drop on Friday, 13th February. To celebrate this highly anticipated release, the band have unveiled the album’s dynamic new single, ‘Mind Renovation’, which encapsulates the band’s “organic, no bells and whistles” sound.

With their addition to the Remote Control roster, the eclectic outfit join the label’s ever increasing Australian roster, which presently includes the likes of Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Client Liaison, Klo, Saskwatch, Pealrs, Velociraptor, Teeth & Tongue, and Sunbeam Sound Machine. To celebrate this huge moment in the band’s short career, Dorsal Fins will play a very special single launch show at The Gasometer in Melbourne on Saturday, 31st January.

With the single already making waves on the blogosphere, with its warm horns, tight arrangements, and dynamic vocals from Jarrad Brown and Ella Thompson, all eyes are now on the band’s forthcoming LP, which sees the group collaborate to create a genre-spanning sound that is held together by the excitement, sincerity, and instrumental prowess of its ten or so musicians, which famously includes mastermind Liam McGorry of Saskwatch and Eagle & The Worm.
