After much anticipation, the organisers of Bonnaroo, one of the most highly anticipated festival events on the international calendar, have finally announced their lineup for Bonnaroo 2015. Or to put it more accurately, they let their fans announce it for them.
As Tone Deaf previously reported, this year’s lineup was announced through somewhat revolutionary means. Fans keen to know who’s on the lineup were instructed to dial 1-844-ROO-2015. They would then be told one of the artists set to perform and encouraged to share the info on social media.
While it seemed like a troll’s wet dream, the experiment went off, seemingly, without a hitch. Bonnaroo’s beleaguered social media manager quickly took the confirmed names and added them to the roster on the festival’s official site, including three Aussie names: Flume, Courtney Barnett, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
While it’s not quite the contingent currently slated to make their way over to Austin for SXSW later this year, they’re still some of our best and brightest.
