After a massive 2014, Australia’s favourite party-thrashers DZ Deathrays are smashing their way into the new year, having been announced on the likes of the ripping new music festival Farmer & The Owl, and just this morning the trio gave an epic performance of a ’90s classic.

Looking fresh and ready to jam, DZ gave a memorable performance of the 1998 hit ‘Totally Addicted To Bass’ by Josh Abrahams and Amiel Daemion, paying respectful homage to the original whilst adding a much more head-bangin’ sentiment to the tune – notably, without actually using a bass guitar.

The video below unveils DZ Deathrays’ brand-spanking new member, guitarist Lachlan Ewbank, who shreds his way through the heavily distorted bass tones, providing extra depth to the band’s raucous sound.

Having released Black Rat last year, DZ’s popularity has grown exponentially. So much so that the guys are embarking on a huge headlining national tour beginning in February with a massive supports, the garage terrors of the US, Bass Drum Of Death, and the super talented dudes of Hockey Dad.

Dig DZ Deathrays’ ultimate rendition of ‘Totally Addicted To Bass’ below, with national tour dates underneath that.
