It’s harder than ever for up-and-coming bands to catch a break these days. No matter how hard you toil, the odds seem stacked against you. If only you had some way of making it to a big stage, Soundwave for example, and showing everybody what you’re made of, garnering tons of new fans and perhaps even some interested industry parties.

Well, today might just be your lucky day, because Triple J Unearthed have announced that they will once again be partnering with the organisers of Soundwave to see a local band added to the lineup in each city that this year’s festival visits. That’s Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane for the uninitiated.

The festival will be blitzing through these cities this February and March, with a massive two-day lineup topped by Slipknot, Soundgarden, Faith No More, and The Smashing Pumpkins, and featuring the likes of Judas Priest, Marilyn Manson, Fall Out Boy, Incubus, Ministry, Lamb of God, Fear Factory, and many more.

To be eligible for selection, you have to get your best tracks uploaded to the Triple J Unearthed website by Sunday, 8th February. The successful bands will join the esteemed likes of last year’s winners, Ceres, Xenobiotic, Chronolyth, and Sierra. For more details, head on over to the Unearthed website.
