If you get booted out of a club what is the most logical thing to do? Move on to another venue? Go home? No, of course not, the answer is to keep partying in (hopefully) the club you were just escorted out of. This may be an act some of us have been guilty of in our time, and for a youngster it cost him a whole lot more than stern words from red faced bouncers.

Hugh McMahon, an 18 year-old from Ireland, was booted from a club in Queensland’s notorious Surfers Paradise, which resulted in him attempting to sneak back in, getting caught once again and being fined a whopping $2,600, as the ABC report.

You may think he’s just a silly young pup who doesn’t deserve such a penalty, but wait until you hear the ridiculous story behind the massive fine.

McMahon, who had been partying a little too hard in Sin City nightclub, decided to take a snooze, resulting in him being asked to leave by security staff. After this, he somehow snuck passed bouncers where they eventually found him cutting some shapes on the dance floor, which naturally saw him be escorted from the building again.

After two evictions you’d probably think it’s time to move on to another club, right? Not for this bright spark, adamant he needed to spend his night in Sin City, attempted to sneak back into the venue via the roof, where he got stuck in air vent and needed to be rescued by firefighters. Bet you aren’t so team McMahon now?

The Irish teen has since faced court, where he was fined $900 and ordered to pay $1,700 in restitution for damage to the club’s roof and a non-essential call out of the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service. In his sentencing, Magistrate Ron Kilner told McMahon “Drunk or sober it is a remarkably stupid thing you’ve done.”

This is definitely the most ridiculous story we’ve heard all week and has certainly crushed any genius ideas we had of slipping passed bouncers through air vents.
